Plant orders and delivery FAQs

Where do you deliver to?
We accept online orders from Mainland UK including the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Anglesey.

All orders despatched to the Scottish Highlands and any other non-mainland UK destination not listed above will need to be individually priced for postage and packing. Please contact us if you wish to order for delvery to these locations.

Due to Brexit we regret that we no long send plants to mainland Europe and Northern Ireland.

How do I place an order?

Placing an order could not be easier. Just browse our wide selection of Penstemon and Perennials then add any items that you wish to buy into the basket. Each plant is sold with an individual price. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

When are your plants available to order and can I pre-order for spring 2023 despatch?

Plants can be ordered or pre-ordered throughout the year. Penstemon will only be despatched between May and early October.

Orders for Perennials will be sent throughout the year, starting from March 2022 onwards. When we receive your order, we will email you to let you know if any plants are not yet suitable for delivery.

Stock levels can change very quickly in the height of the season and, whilst we endeavour to update the website quickly, there will inevitably be unfortunate occasions where plants ordered via the website are already out of stock. Unless you have specifically asked for substitutes the cost any unavailable plants will be refunded to you.

PENSTEMON AVAILABILITY

PLEASE NOTE: Penstemon listed as available are for dispatch from

MAY 2023. We are sold out of Penstemon for Mail Order in 2022.

If you are happy to wait then please feel free to place an order and we thank you for your patience.

What if the varieties I want are not available from your website?

At times throughout the growing year some varieties of plants will only be available from the Nursery. This is either due to the plant being too large or too delicate to send via Mail Order courier or due to low stock numbers. To avoid disappointment we would advise emailing or ringing the Nursery to reserve your plants before travelling a long distance to visit. Alternatively we can deliver plants via Flower Shows at no additional cost please see our Shows page for venues and dates.

Our website is regularly updated and we always have more plants available than are currently listed, therefore if there is something specific you are after, please do not hesitate to contact us as we may have it!

What size pot will the plants be in and how will they be packed?

All of our Penstemon and Perennials will be in a 1 Litre pot. Plants are well packed into boxes designed to give the plants the best chance to arrive in a good condition. They will also be caned to prevent pots moving in the event of courier turning boxes upside down - we hope they won’t, but it can happen.

What are your delivery costs?

We endeavour to offer excellent customer service tailored to your order. To maintain the high levels of care required to package and transport live materials and to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition, a flat fee of £11 is charged for postage and packing on each total plants order. This charge is for postage to Mainland UK, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Anglesey.

How do I pay?

We accept Visa and MasterCard and all payments are taken and verified by Stripe.com via a secure server. If you do not wish to pay online, you may phone the nursery direct on 01684 593606 or send your order and payment by post.
Alternatively you can email us or give us a call and then we will take them to one of the Shows we attend for you to collect.

Will I get an order confirmation?

Yes. This will be emailed to you once we have received your order. Please check your junk mail, if you still can't see your email confirmation please email us. info@greenjjam.co.uk

We would advise that your order has not been accepted until you have received a confirmation email from Green JJam.

We reserve the right to cancel any order for any reason. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any disputes will be decided by the courts of England and Wales. The above policies do not affect your statutory rights. Please contact us if you require further information.

I have had an order confirmation but I have not heard any more?

You will not receive another update from us until we are about to despatch your order. IF you have an issue with the expected delivery date stated in the email, please advise us ASAP so that we can delay sending and arrange a more convenient date.

Lastly you will receive an email to tell you that your order has been despatched via our courier. It will include a tracking number so that you can see where your plants are. IF for any reason you do not receive your order within the given timescale please advise us info@greenjjam.co.uk. We will then contact our courier.

When are your plants despatched?

We aim to get your plants out to you within 2 weeks of receiving your order during the growing season. In our really busy weeks  this could be up to 3-4 weeks
Despatch times will be shown on our home page. If there is going to be any more time delay we will let you know individually. We do not despatch on a Thursday or Friday. PLEASE ALLOW AN EXTRA 2 DAYS FOR ORDERS PLACED PRIOR TO A BANK HOLIDAY.

If there is any problem with your order we will contact you prior to despatch.

We are not in control of the weather - so sometimes orders may be a bit delayed - especially in early spring when cold weather can slow up growing. If there are either extremely hot or cold weather conditions prevalent, your order may be delayed until temperatures return to something less stressful for the plants.

When ready they will be despatched using our next day courier service. This means your plants will be with you within 24 hours of despatch, not 24 hours from the time the order is placed.
We won't send out parts of orders unless you specifically want us to - but then we have will to charge you extra postage, sorry!

How are your plants despatched?

We use a courier service for all deliveries of plants. It helps greatly if you can provide a daytime phone number which the courier service can call if they have any trouble locating your address. We pack our plants carefully and they should still be in good condition up to 5 days from despatch.

What if I am out when the plants are delivered?

Our plant orders do not need to be signed for and can therefore be left at your property in a safe place. If you are likely to be out when your delivery is due, please use the "Special Instructions" box to tell us where your parcel can be left in a safe place.

To help ensure your parcel reaches you as easily as possible, please could you also fill in the "Special instructions" box with any further information you feel our courier may need - e.g. Our house is down a small lane etc.

What should I do with my plants when I receive them?

Your plants will be sent out in full growth in exactly the same condition as they are sold on our Nursery. However, during the growing season, it may be necessary for some plants to be cut back. Plants with tall stems and lots of foliage may lose a great deal of water in transit and cutting back helps reduce this stress. Cutting back will not harm your plants but will help in their establishment by promoting new root and shoot growth once planted.

When your plants arrive, please unpack them immediately and water the pots if required. To help you we include basic planting instructions with your order. We also include ongoing care instructions for the Penstemon.

Should there be a problem, please contact us immediately (within 24 hours) by email, messenger or phone. We want to make sure you are completely happy with them.

I've received my order but why are some plants missing?

On occasions we are unable to fulfil orders this can be due to a number of reasons, living plants are unlike many other commodities. We reserve the right to remove plants from orders for the following reasons;

·         Poor stock quality - possibly due to but not limited to the following; pest/disease or frost damage

·         We suspect that our stock may be incorrectly named - thankfully this is rare.

When you receive your order you will also receive an updated copy of your order invoice detailing the plants we've charged you for, any plants which do not appear on the list will not be charged for and the money will be refunded to your account. Refunds will take approximately 10 business days to reach your account once they have been processed, sadly the time scales involved are out of our control.

If you have any further concerns relating to payments you have made please email us info@greenjjam.co.uk
